The Spenco Supreme Slide slippers are cushioned and supportive slippers designed for winter comfort. It’s also specifically designed to help those that need sufficient arch support from their indoor footwear. To that note, the slippers are constructed using a premium suede upper, faux shearling accents, compression-molded EVA foam for the footbed, and a lightweight rubber outsole.
The slippers are intended for mostly indoor use, as getting them wet may have an effect on the look of the sued upper. They’re extremely comfortable and with their total support contour design, they should help reduce foot fatigue and heel pain caused by plantar fasciitis.
The Supreme Slide slippers come in various color selections including black, taupe, bison, chocolate, deep forest, and charcoal green. There’s also a good range of sizes, ranging from womens 5 to 11.
Arch Support
The Supreme Slide slippers come with an excellent amount of cushion and support in the arch area to aid those who are suffering from plantar fasciitis. The slipper’s arch support footbed conforms to the shape of your feet, and is based off of their patented insole design. However, this slipper does not have a removable insert, nor does it have metatarsal padding like the Spenco Siesta mule.
Meanwhile, the footbed is made of compression-molded EVA and also has a bit of padding that adds to the comfort. This mule is also designed to allow your feet to slip on and off with ease. As far as the material used for the footbed, it has a really soft and enjoyable shearling texture which helps to keep your feet warm and cushioned at all times.
The toe box is fairly standard and provides plenty of wiggle room. And the fur covering is enough to keep them warm and toasty during those cold winter evenings.
Due to their convenient slip-on design, these mules won’t have any velcro straps or clips. Just slide into them and get going.
Heel Support
The Supreme Slide slippers also feature a deep heel cup that cradles your heel sufficiently, while providing you with proper cushioning, comfort, and support. Apart from that, there’s also a considerable thickness in the sole near the heel area to provide protection to your heel from impact when walking.
The deep heel cup also adds to the slipper’s overall stability, and since it’s deep enough, you won’t have any issues with your foot slipping one way or another. Additionally, the heel cup seems to be fairly wide, which will benefit those that can’t deal with narrow footwear.
Outsole
The outsole of the Spenco Supreme slippers is made of synthetic material. It features a patterned grip that is designed to absorb shock from walking and make sure that you maintain a decent grip on indoor surfaces.
Aside from the grip, the lightweight and somewhat flexible outsole also adds as much support as possible. It should be durable enough to last for quite awhile, especially if you don’t scuff them up on concrete and outdoor surfaces.
Overall Feel
As far as how these Spencos feel, they definitely rank as of the best slippers with arch support. When you slide into them the first thing you’ll notice is how light they are. The look is premium, with the suede upper material being soft to the touch. The shearling lining is on the collar and throughout the footbed, which creates a comfortable experience overall. And the arch support feels more than your standard store-bought slippers.
This slipper is about true to size and there is sufficient room in the toe box so that they have enough space. For those that wear half sizes, Spenco suggests ordering the next size up. And as far as color options go, there are several good looking options to choose from.
Use
These night slippers are perfect for indoor use, and may help with morning heel pain as the arch support is above average. But due to the lightweight outsole and fur lining, they probably won’t be good for too much use outdoors. Using them to run around the outside of the house would probably work well as long as there isn’t puddles or dirt. They may scuff up when used outdoors too frequently.
But as far as cozy slippers go, these are about as good as you can get when looking for winter slippers. With tons of fur your feet will be protected. And being a mule slipper, you might even get away with wearing them in the summer since there’s no backing to them.
For cleaning, you may want to use gentle cleansers and light water for the outsole since they are not waterproof and may damage easily. Fortunately, they do come with antimicrobial properties to control odor and keep them smelling fresh and clean.
